Hi folks! I am new here and thought I would take a moment for an introduction.
I have been in Maryland since 2005 and recently decided to get back into shooting after a long hiatus. I grew up in central Illinois plinking, shooting trap and doing some hunting. I was in the Army from 1984 - 1994 and have not done much shooting since then. I have recently decided to get my HQL and have a CZ 75 SP-01 on layaway while waiting for the license. I'm driving back to Illinois next week and bringing back a 12 gauge O/U, 20 gauge pump, .22 LR rifle, and a .30-30 LR rifle that are at my parent's house. I also have a RWS model 48 air rifle here in MD.
So I intend to join the Izaak Walton League in Damascus which is a short 10 mile drive from home and take advantage of their range. It is a bit amazing to me that I can't just grab my rifle, stick it in the trunk, go out in the country along side some railroad track, and shoot up some cans like back in my youth. Anyway, I look forward to getting outside again and doing some shooting.
