I have a nice AR-15, which I like, but I don't really consider myself an AR guy. So, when a friend of mine asked me for advice about an AR-15 rifle he picked up, I didn't feel confident giving him advice. So.... here I is. Unlike my AR, his is a basic entry model DPMS with a rail on the receiver, a short non-railed "standard" handguard and a single railed gas block. It came with no sights or optics. At first I was going to tell him to pick up a set of Magpu MBUS sights, but then I realized the receiver rail was a tad higher than the rail on the gas block. Not a lot, but it was noticeable. Now, I'm not so sure about what sights to recommend. I think there would probably be enough adjustment on the front sight, but I wouldn't bank on it. What do you AR oriented guys suggest?
