I am a PA transplant working on a degree at College Park.
I was actually shot in a drive by in Philadelphia on my way to school in 5th grade. As a result of that event I was curious to learn more about firearms and didn't have a gut reaction of fear as many people expected. However in Philadelphia I never took the time to educate myself. I recently got the chance to educate myself about firearms in November from an NRA basic pistol course and have had a very nice Ruger Single ten I use for target shooting since then. Working on getting a Chiappa Rhino 60ds and a Ruger bisley vaquero for the novelty of it. I'm still getting started but I am working on educating myself as much as possible. I still have some unsavory family members selling drugs in Philadelphia and am trying to learn to protect myself.
I also recently have taken a Utah CCW class but the dang thing left me really confused. During my basic pistol course I was told to keep my handgun in a container in the trunk and ammo separate and in cases okay if unlocked individually. During the Utah course I was told to make sure the ammo container had a lock and the pistol was in a hard sided locked case separate from it in the trunk. So currently I have an ammo can with a padlock on it for ammo and a sealed hard sided container with a lock on it for the revolver. I'm thinking about getting one of those GPS handgunner backpacks: http://ift.tt/1FsoPtu but I'm not sure if it's legal to put the gun in that and padlock the front.
At any rate that's enough rambling from me I hope to become a part of the community best I can.
