Customer service

Recently, I had some dissapointing experiences with couple gun stores in the Capital region. One is an IP and one is not. What's going on with customer service these days?

1st scenario: Spent approximately $1400 on a gun and when I took it home, I was dissapointed to find, upon closer inspection, that there was a small crack in the recoil pad (not maybe a BIG issue, but I spent what is alot of money to me) when I contacted the IP store, I recieved a note back, brushing me off passively saying that "we'll" have to go to the manufacturer about it.

2nd scenario: my buddy and I went to the non-ip store and didn't even get a nod or hello from the two people behind the counter sitting there. We browsed for awhile and when I asked a question about a Beretta 686, one older guy looks at me and mumbles something like I was annoying him. I wasn't spending a dime at that store. My buddy wanted to purchase some guns and my thought was to go somewhere else, but we drove all the way into the beltway. Anyway, a younger guy came out from back and he ended up taking over the sales, being helpful so my buddy dropped over $2k there.

To me, first experience is everything at a store so I would never set foot in those stores again.

I havn't been to United, but I hear the fellas there are very helpful and customer service top notch. Hafer's has always done right so he'll be getting more of my business in the near future. Do you have any other recommendations?
