Anyone that has handled a colt 635 or HK mp5 smg will attest to the superiority of the platform in CQB .even in semi automatic mode. ( Fbi HRT uses semi for mp5s)
There are many pistol caliber carbines out there but there are also pistolized carbines with sig arm braces that have short barrels.
These mimic the handling characteristics of the machine pistol / smg ( no select Fire, semi auto only). These pistols have a good potential in replacing the shotgun, MSR and pistol as a primary HD weapon. They are easy to shoot well, compact, accurate and can pack a lot of firepower with standard capacity mags.
I'm particularly interested in pistol caliber variants. The mpx, ar pistols in 9mm, the Ak in 9mm, Kris's vector. Etc.
Is this the new trend in home defense firearms ? Is it just a trend , fad or the wave of the future.
