I am not really sure this is the best place for this topic but I know we have had discussions in the past specifically related to a firearm and the history behind it. Although I don't have that kind of luck I would really like to learn more about my families service. I have been trying to research my Grandfathers Military history for some time now and just sent off a request for his records to the National Archives. I Cannot find a lot of on the 104th Quartermaster Division from 1942-1945 but I would like to understand what he did in Europe. What research tools have you used to get this info?
Also, I wanted to see if anyone on here has a membership to the Stars & Stripes Archives? I will join but I would like to see if search results will pull anything on my Grandfather or my Dad who served in Vietnam. I have a specific image that I am looking for from one of the Stars & Stripes articles that had my dad on watch silhouetted by a lightning strike in the area. He gave me this newspaper when I was in 4th or 5th grade and I had it for a long time but lost it after a move. I would like find it again and request a copy.
